Interactive Tools
The digital classroom has a full complement of interactive tools to enhance, engage, and deepen understanding. These tools provide teachers with the opportunity to have real-time assessment, which shapes differentiated instruction.

Interactive White Board with Mounted Projector

Students in small groups use the interactive white board to review math concepts.
Netbook
Each student uses an assigned netbook to create and
post assignments. After reading a selected passage
from a work of literature, the student discusses her analysis
with classmates.
Student Response Systems

Students use handheld response systems to provide the teacher with immediate feedback about topics either newly introduced, or concepts being reviewed.
Targeted Technical Support
Instructional support was ongoing through the year with consultation for identifying key tools to enhance classroom units.
Instructional Support
Consultation throughout the year with the building-based Instructional Technology Specialist assisted teachers in identification of educational applications. For example, Glogster was chosen along with a selection of web-based interactive periodic tables for a research project in which students described elements and selected relevant visuals to accompany their project. Critical thinking skills were also addressed as students identified real-world applications and uses of their elements.
