Newton Public Schools - Employment

If you are interested in teaching high school but do not have formal training, you may want to consider Newton's district based teacher preparation program, Newton Teacher Residency. Newton Teacher Residency offers practice-based training guided by current Newton teachers, and grants Massachusetts licensure (grades 8-12) in English, history, math, physics, biology, and chemistry. Newton Teacher Residents pay a modest tuition (financial aid is available), and are not employees of the Newton Public Schools. NTR graduates work in schools Across Massachusetts and beyond; they are not promised employment in Newton.
