Unless otherwise noted, all meetings are held at 7:30 PM in Education Center located at 100 Walnut St., Newtonville, MA 02460. In compliance with the Open Meeting law, the meeting agenda is posted at least 48 hours in advance of the meeting at Newton City Hall and on this webpage. Meetings are televised by NewTV, and can be viewed either live or according to their schedule of reruns.
The Newton School Committee will hear public comments on any subject at both the beginning and the end of any regular School Committee meeting. Speakers will be heard in the order in which they appear on the Speaker Sign-Upsheet, located next to the microphone on the speaker table. After hearing all speakers on the list, the Chair will also allow others, who have not signed up, an opportunity to speak. Upon being recognized by the Chair and taking the microphone, each speaker should identify himself/herself by stating name and address (please speak clearly into the microphone). Comments are limited to 3 minutes. This procedure does not apply to Special Meetings unless so stated.
