New School Lunch Online Payment System
A letter will be sent home to all households in August 2011 about our new School Lunch Payment System called myschoolbucks.com. Please see our Student Meal & Online Payments link for more info.
No More Pre-Ordering Meals
You do NOT have to pre-order any meals. Meals will be available to all students at every elementary school daily.
New Student ID Cards
Every student will have an ID card which will be swiped at the point of sale instead of marking a roster. This will allow for an easier and more effective way of controlling cafeteria sales. All ID cards will stay at your schools site in the cafeteria.
How It Works?
When your child goes to lunch whether it is in a cafeteria or in their classroom, they will have the option to purchase lunch or a milk. Once your child takes one of those options they will scan thier ID Card into a cash register system called a Point of Sale (POS). The POS system will then deduct the amount of the meal $3.00 or milk $.50 from your child's account. Once your child's balance gets low we will generate a letter letting you know your balance is low and asking you to please put more money on your child's account. You can go online at mySchoolbucks.com at anytime to check meals/milk purchased and deposits to account.
Payments for School Lunch can be made in several different ways:
1.) Checks can be sent directly to your child’s school made payable to Newton Public Schools. Please include your child’s full name on the memo line of the check.
2.) Payments can be made 24 hours a day, 7 days per week online at myschoolbucks.com website.
3.) Cash is also accepted at the school sites. Please provide cash in an envelope with childs full name marked clearly.
